🌄 Early Departure – Towards the Andes
The day begins with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco around 4:30 a.m., starting the scenic drive northwest toward Soraypampa, the base of the hike.
On the way, enjoy a traditional Andean breakfast in the village of Mollepata, where you’ll also get your first views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

🥾 Hike to Humantay Lake
Arriving at Soraypampa (3,900 m), begin your ascent along a well-marked trail that winds through dramatic highland landscapes.
The hike takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, gaining altitude gradually as the turquoise lake and the snow-covered Salkantay Glacier (6,270 m) appear ahead.
Your guide will share insights about local traditions, the spiritual significance of the mountains, and the flora and fauna of the region.

💎 Arrival at Humantay Lake
At the summit, enjoy breathtaking views of Humantay Lake (4,200 m) — its brilliant turquoise waters reflecting the towering peaks around it.
Take time to relax, meditate, or capture incredible photos of this Andean paradise. If conditions allow, you can participate in a short Andean offering (pago a la tierra) led by your guide to honor the mountain spirits.

🍽️ Descent and Return to Cusco
After enjoying the serenity of the lake, descend to Soraypampa and board the transport back to Mollepata, where a delicious buffet lunch awaits.
Continue your return to Cusco, arriving by late afternoon with unforgettable memories of one of the Andes’ most beautiful natural sites.
