Effective Date: [Insert Date]
1. Purpose
At SANDI TRAVEL EXPEDITION E.I.R.L. we prioritize your safety, comfort, and peace of mind. This policy outlines our recommendation and requirements regarding travel insurance coverage for all clients booking tours, treks, or travel services with us.
2. General Recommendation
We strongly recommend that every traveler obtain comprehensive travel insurance before arriving in Peru or beginning any activity booked through our agency.
Travel insurance should cover (at minimum):
- Medical emergencies and hospitalization.
- Accidents or injuries during tours, treks, or transfers.
- Trip cancellations or interruptions due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Lost, stolen, or delayed baggage.
- Repatriation costs (in case of medical evacuation or emergency return).
3. Agency Role and Responsibility
SANDI TRAVEL EXPEDITION E.I.R.L. is a licensed tour operator but does not provide or sell travel insurance. Our role is limited to informing and advising clients about its importance. We assume that all travelers have reviewed and accepted this policy before confirming their booking.
4. Client Responsibility
- Clients are responsible for obtaining valid travel insurance before starting any booked service.
- Clients must ensure that their policy includes coverage for high-altitude destinations, trekking, and outdoor activities.
- Proof of insurance may be requested prior to participation in certain tours or treks.
5. Recommended Insurance Coverage
When choosing travel insurance, we recommend policies that include:
- Coverage for medical expenses up to at least USD 10,000.
- Adventure and high-altitude activity coverage (for treks such as Salkantay, Ausangate, or Inca Trail).
- Emergency evacuation and repatriation services.
- Trip cancellation protection due to illness, flight disruption, or personal reasons.
6. Illness, Accidents, and Emergencies
If a traveler becomes ill, suffers an injury, or experiences an emergency during a tour, our team will provide immediate support and coordination with local medical facilities. However, all related costs (medical attention, ambulance, evacuation, etc.) are the responsibility of the traveler and/or their insurance provider.
7. No Insurance Clause
By confirming a booking with us, travelers who choose not to obtain travel insurance acknowledge and accept full responsibility for any financial loss, medical expense, or inconvenience that may arise due to unforeseen events or personal circumstances.
8. Force Majeure and Unforeseen Events
Situations such as political unrest, strikes, extreme weather, or natural disasters are beyond our control. In such cases, insurance coverage is the traveler’s only protection for costs related to cancellations, delays, or emergencies.
